  • kategori In this TEDx talk, Nallan talks about the emergence of the idea of Data Lakes which is now becoming the bedrock for all machine learning and deep learning capabilities. We now have the ability to remove silos and democratize data and its access via the Data Lake capability which will help us streamline and automate data ingestion. This makes it easy to consume by everyone in a self-service way. This progress will deliver data and analytics solutions to our business via dashboards, APIs, and Natural Language Processing and Voice capabilities. These solutions include diagnostics, predictive and prescriptive analytics. In the future, we anticipate being able to provide assisted and automated decisions using deep machine learning. As the Head of Technology, reporting to Global CIO of Unilever, Sri is responsible for Technology Strategy, and application development of all data, information and analytics capabilities for Unilever. He joined Unilever in Sept 2017, and is responsible for building the foundational capabilities like Data Lake, Machine learning and deep learning systems that will enable Unilever becoming AI driven. Before joining Unilever, he spent 21 years at Thomson Reuters in various senior roles including VP of application development, Chief Architect and led Reuters Innovation Lab in New York. Before Reuters, Sri has consulted for four years on large-scale systems implementations and provided architecture and technology strategy expertise to a variety of institutions. Sri earned his Advanced Masters diploma in Global Enterprise from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and MS from Bharadhisasan University. Sri is married with two teenage children and currently lives in Bangalore. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
